A Message From Linda Armstrong

April 2024 Newsletter

It’s the day after Easter and I find myself musing about the past week. As a church musician, Holy Week has always been a busy week for me, obviously, but it’s also a week of a wide range of emotions, not just for me, but for all Christians. I sincerely enjoy preparing music for all the emotions of the week, and yet feel a sense of exhausted relief this day after Easter.

The first Sunday I was a substitute musician at Family of God last year was the first Sunday after Easter. Little did I know then how important that first Sunday would be for me! It has been a wonderful year getting to know Family of God. I am seeing the love, devotion and commitment the members have for the church and for each other. Everyone pitches in! It makes me think of a song I have often taught to the littlest singers at various churches I have served. It goes like this:

When I’m at church I will worship the Lord, quietly listen to God’s holy word.

I will be friendly to friends old and new, pleasing the Lord in whatever I do.

I am so glad that this is my church, this is my church, this is my church.

I am so glad that this is my church. I will serve Jesus here!

I am so glad that Family of God is the church where I can serve Jesus!! Thanks for a wonderful

year!
